Cialin Mills-Ostwald, LMT is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) with people of all ages since 2012.

She completed her massage training at Lane Community College, and has studied Cranial Sacral Therapy with both the Upledger and Milne Institutes. She is passionate about working with families and children, and came to this work after seeing the differences it made for her own children.

Prior to becoming an LMT, Cialin was a stay-at-home mom, an office manager, a preschool teacher, a theater technician, a martial arts teacher, and a musician. These past experiences inform her current work and her connections with clients and families. In her spare time she gardens and sings, and enjoys hiking and creating community.

Some background about the work: Cranial Sacral Therapy uses a very light touch to support the body in resolving restrictions in the soft tissues and central nervous system. It can be helpful in all stages of life, from infancy to elder ages, freeing up resources and energy that can be used for health and growth, instead of compensating for “stuck” places in the body. Some symptoms that can often be addressed by CST include latching issues, colic, bed-wetting, ear pain, TMJ dysfunction, headaches, post-birth recovery, back and neck pain, and physical trauma, among others.

What to expect: Sessions for young people usually last around 1 hour. Some of that time is dedicated to allowing the child and family to feel safe and comfortable. Clients remain clothed, and infants often stay in a parent’s arms for the session. For older children it can be helpful to bring a favorite toy or book. Cialin will evaluate areas in the body and place gentle hands on those areas to assist release. Some issues can be resolved in a single session, while many require 2-3 visits.
