Referrals for Lactation Consultant & Craniosacral Therapist

We recommend these local providers:

Lactation Concultant/IBCLC

Sarah Imig, RN IBCLC at Daisy C.H.A.I.N.

DAISY Chain is a local non-profit based in Eugene, Oregon serving all of Lane County. Daisy C.H.A.I.N. provides the community with research- and evidence-based support services and education for individuals and families in their reproductive years. All services with DAISY Chain are free.

I have been working with families in one way or another since 2006, having worked first as a Birth Doula and Midwife Assistant before getting my RN license.  After moving to Eugene in 2014, I started focusing more on lactation support while working at the Nurse Midwifery Birth Center in Springfield, OR., (now closed).

Currently I am proudly serving families as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for Daisy C.H.A.I.N. When I’m not working, I can be found enjoying food & music at home with my family, or hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. 🙂

CranioSacral Therapist

Cialin Mills-Ostwald, LMT

Cialin Mills-Ostwald, LMT is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) with people of all ages since 2012.

Some background about the work: Cranial Sacral Therapy uses a very light touch to support the body in resolving restrictions in the soft tissues and central nervous system. It can be helpful in all stages of life, from infancy to elder ages, freeing up resources and energy that can be used for health and growth, instead of compensating for “stuck” places in the body. Some symptoms that can often be addressed by CST include latching issues, colic, bed-wetting, ear pain, TMJ dysfunction, headaches, post-birth recovery, back and neck pain, and physical trauma, among others.

What to expect: Sessions for young people usually last around 1 hour. Some of that time is dedicated to allowing the child and family to feel safe and comfortable. Clients remain clothed, and infants often stay in a parent’s arms for the session. For older children it can be helpful to bring a favorite toy or book. Cialin will evaluate areas in the body and place gentle hands on those areas to assist release. Some issues can be resolved in a single session, while many require 2-3 visits.

Annie Hoag BSN, RN, IBCLC, CST – Connect The Dots

Annie has been working with parents and babies for twenty years, helping to work through various breastfeeding issues. She combines her knowledge of breastfeeding and infant development with craniosacral therapy as a way to get to many of the root problems infants may face with feeding. Craniosacral therapy can help with tongue tie revisions both pre and post procedure to assist with any lingering tightness or to encourage better tongue movement.

At Connect the Dots, our mission is to provide a highly individualized, multi-faceted and holistic treatment approach to help children birth through 18 grow to their highest potential. To achieve our mission daily, we have a dedicated staff who shares the common objective of helping children and their families overcome obstacles and enjoy happier, fuller lives. With decades of experience in pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy practice, our therapists use play-based therapy to engage and teach kids and their families in a fun, non-threatening environment.
